About Face Faces The Future

2009_02_about_face_theatre.jpg About Face Theatre (AFT), a Chicago company whose work focuses on LGBTQ and gender issues, is in danger of shutting down. Besides producing Pulitzer Prize/Jeff/Tony Award-winning work, About Face fills a specific niche in our community with its Youth Theatre workshops and outreach programs - so while we’d hate to see ANY Chicago theater close its doors, we think there would be an especially noticeable void left in its absence.

After cutting their budget by 30% and postponing the third show of their season, the folks at AFT have launched the “FACE THE FUTURE” campaign with a $300,000 fundraising goal. Our wallets are tight right now, and we know yours are too - if you can’t spare some cash, you can participate in a web-based video forum to show your support by emailing or calling. At the very least, spread the word.

Donations can be made at the theater's website, by calling (773) 784-8565, or by mailing a check to the theater at 1222 W. Wilson, 2nd Floor West, Chicago, IL 60640
