2009_3_numero_group_local_customs.jpg Chicago's relentless soul-seekers, The Numero Group, will be screening their 30-minute documentary, Downriver Revival tonight at Sonotheque, followed by "music from the Double-U Sound vault that includes ... rare cuts from the Numero archive for your listening pleasure into the midnight hour."

Downriver Revival is Numero Group's latest creation, a CD of 24 recordings from Detroit's Felton Williams, recorded between 1967 and 1973 on the Double-U label. It includes gospel, group soul, garage-punk, northern, jazz, and funk, and comes with a DVD of "over 200 sound recordings pulled from his archives and compiled into a digital tape vault," comprised of "hours of jam sessions, demos, sermons, rehearsals, and studio outtakes."
