Makin’ Bacon, The Book Deal

First came lolcats. Then Stuff White People Like. Now, the latest iteration of blogosphere-born book deals is…bacon.

The Bacon Explosion!
Bacon Explosion, described as “The BBQ Sausage Recipe of All Recipes,” by its creators at the BBQ Addicts blog is a hell of a lot of hog. Take two pounds bacon, two pounds sausage, weave them together like some kind of perverse pork-filled quilt, slather on BBQ sauce, add more pork, then add more bacon until, well, you get something that looks like a giant of log of American excess. Call it amazing or call it obscene, the Kansas City barbecuers claim over 16,000 Web sites have linked to this site, which has also been profiled by the New York Times and Good Morning America.

With all the hype, it’s damn near inevitable that a book deal was soon to follow. Titled, “Barbecue Makes Everything Better,” Scribner reportedly bought the rights in a six-figure deal. Dare I say, this book deal may have enough pork in it to make Blago blush.

Wake up and smell it, bacon’s where the big bucks are at.
