Do This: Grant Achatz Cooking Demonstration @ Now We're Cookin' Evanston

Grant Achatz started his rise to chef superstardom at the long lamented Trio in Evanston, which also served as a proving ground for Rick Tramonto, Gale Gand, Shawn McClain and Dale Levitski.

So when we saw that Evanston-based cooking school Now We're Cookin' announced a cooking class with Achatz for April 1, we wondered if this was another April Fools prank. Um, it isn't. Mary McMahon, Now We're Cookin's culinary director, is also a Trio alumnus from the Achatz/McClain era; the professional relationship helped her snag Achatz for this rare event.

Anyway, the demo runs from 6:30-9:30 p.m. and costs $65. As of post time, Now We're Cookin' also has spaces available for the demonstration. So stop reading this and call 847-570-4140 to RSVP.
