St. Patrick's Day Diversion - The Fugitive

By Marcus Gilmer in Miscellaneous on Mar 17, 2009 3:00PM

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone. Today, everyone is Irish, yes? Well, that's why I put Bailey's in my coffee this morning.

Aaaaaaaaaanyway. We thought we'd have a little fun with this morning's diversion and trod off the beaten path to look back at the scene in the great action flick The Fugitive where Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford dive into the City of Chicago's St. Patrick's Day Parade, a scene that was allegedly filmed on the fly during the city's actual parade that year. And yes, even though the quality is kinda crap, we SWEAR that's Sen. Roland Burris at the 0:59 - 1:02 mark. A quick check of -Wikipedia reveals, "During the St Patrick's Day Parade chase scene, Mayor Richard M. Daley and then Illinois Attorney General Roland W. Burris are briefly, but prominently, shown as participants in the parade." So that's that.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
