By Marcus Gilmer in News on Mar 21, 2009 6:00PM

An off-duty Chicago Police officer was killed yesterday afternoon when his motorcycle was involved in a wreck. Officer Cameron Karshna, who was Injured on Duty after sustaining injuries in a fight with a prisoner, was returning to his home after a rehab appointment when a pickup truck turned in front of him, causing the collision. Karshna was pronounced dead at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital at 12:56 p.m. yesterday. Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said the driver of the pickup was cited for failure to yield to the right of way of oncoming traffic while making a left-hand turn and failure to wear a seatbelt.
