Show 'n Tell Show at The Whistler this Sunday

2009_03_showtellshow.jpg There’s nothing better than listening to an artist / designer talk about their creative process—the inspiration, the tears, the glory. But when you add in some random crazy-ass comedy, ‘80s jams, and deliciously crafted cocktails, the result is a brilliant alternative to an uptight theory lecture—The Show ‘n Tell Show.

Head to The Whistler, for this bi-monthly design event that invites local graphic designers, artists, illustrators, and photographers to display their work on the big screen for claps and some slaps—all in good fun, of course. Artists will chat on stage about the struggles (10,000 client revisions) and successes (the fame! the fortune!) of a project from start to finish.

You’ll be wowed by hosts Mike Renaud and Zach Dodson in more ways than one—slick suits (Zach=Colonel Sanders, Mike=Car Salesman), witty banter, and seamless transitions from one designer to the next so the eye candy keeps coming. Add in the hilarious one-liners of Spokes Mom, played by Seth Dodson in Mrs. Doubtfire drag, and you’ll be laughing so hard you won’t realize that you just sucked down three Rosemary Gin & Tonics.

The line-up for this Sunday includes: Anne Benjamin, Nick Campbell, Steve Delahoyde, Margot Harrington, Joe Van Wetering, and a video of the crew's visit to (aww shit) CMYK’s America’s Next Top Graphic Designer auditions.

The Show ‘n Tell Show at The Whistler, 2421 N. Milwaukee, Sunday March 29, 7 p.m. No cover.
