Morning Box Score: Bulls Throw Pistons

The Chicago Bulls made big strides in their march to the postseason with a 99-91 win over the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday. The game was tightly contested until early in the third quarter, when Chicago opened up a lead with a 13-2 scoring run. That run would give Chicago a 10-point advantage, which would grow as large as 19 in the fourth quarter. The Bulls' Kirk Hinrich filled in nicely for the injured Derrick Rose, scoring a game-high 24 points and dishing 8 assists. Rose sat with an injury to his wrist, and his status still uncertain for Thursday's game against Miami. With the victory, the Bulls are now within a game of the seventh spot, currently occupied by Detroit, and two ahead of Charlotte in the race for eighth.
