The Chicago Bulls turned down the Miami Heat, 106-87, on Thursday. Ahead by three points in a tightly contested game, Los Bulls broke it open with a 15-0 run to close out the third quarter. Rebounds were a key aspect of the Bulls’ surge, as they grabbed six boards during that four minute stretch. Efficient shooting didn’t hurt, either, with a mark of 53 percent from the floor and from behind the arc. John Salmons led Chicago with 27 points, and Tyrus Thomas had another impressive showing with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Derrick Rose’s wrist appeared to be in good shape, as he came off the bench for 30 minutes of p.t. The Bulls have now won six of their last seven, and squeeze into seventh place by virtue of their head-to-head tie-breaker with the Pistons.
