Vinyl nerds, be warned. The 7th annual CHIRP Record Fair & Other Delights is upon us—and this year’s media blitz complete with music, magazines, posters, and more will fill your arms with loads of entertainment and eye candy to last all summer long. Founded by the folks at CHIRP, a non-profit organization that aims to bring a new independent radio station to Chicago, this year’s event has a brand new location—the Chicago Journeymen’s Plumber’s Union.

Score some music from Chicago record label luminaries like Touch and Go, Minty Fresh, and Drag City. And, while you’re at it, stop by the Girls Rock! Chicago and Open Books booths to learn how these organizations cultivate Chicago’s independent music and literacy scenes. Then reward yourself with a screen printed rock poster from Steve Walters' Screwball Press. If that’s not your style, Renegade Handmade will have plenty of beautiful DIY baubles to choose from. Supporting local businesses has never been easier.

Washington Blvd. Open Friday, April 18 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 19 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. Regular Admission is $7. $5 with any CHIRP Record Fair ad/receipt from any record store dated April 18, 2009.
