If you were saddened when Bridgeport 32nd & Urban Gallery shut down last winter, then sadface no more: Gallerists Lauren Pacheco and Peter Kepha are busy working on a new project, the Chicago Urban Art Society, to highlight contemporary and emerging artists.
With its nonprofit status pending, the Art Society is currently planning its first fund-raising event: Warehouse Junkies V1, an afternoon art sale/DJ fest/fashion event to be held this July at the 10,000 square-foot East Bank Storage warehouse in Bridgeport. Proceeds will support arts programming in Chicago. The Society is looking for artists, local furniture makers, urban wearable designers -- even skate deck creators -- to sell their wares at the Warehouse event, so find out more and get an application form by emailing info at chgourbanartsociety dot com.
