307-1010A07-RAMSE-H.jpg Are your Chuck Taylors starting to look like the color of sewer water? Then head on over to the OhNo!Doom Gallery this afternoon, where you can buy a pair of canvas TOMS Shoes and get them tricked out by an artist who will customize them to your satisfaction. And your purchase won't just make you look cool -- it will also changed a child's life. Since its founding in 2006, TOMS has donated a pair of shoes to poor children around the world; so far, that's 140,000 pairs. Through the TOMS Vagabond Tour, the company is pairing up with local artists to push product as well as help grow its movement, which aims to help children avoid foot injuries, acquire diseases and infections, and gain access to education (often children can't attend school without shoes). Being philanthropic the TOMS way isn't cheap -- the shoes will cost you $44-$70 -- but getting two paintings and some free heartwarming out of the deal possibly lessens the sacrifice.

Saturday, April 25 at OhNo!Doom Gallery, 2955 W. Lyndale. 1-6 p.m.
