We ♥ Bobby Scales

We love baseball. And while Sox fans outnumber Cubs fans in the office, one thing we can all agree on is that we're big fans of Bobby Scales, the Cubs infielder who has languished in the minors for over ten years, bouncing around from team to team. The Southfield, Michigan native has played well for the Cubs since his call-up two weeks ago and he's captured the hearts of Cubs fans: a 31-year-old rookie, living the dream and soaking up every second. And, oh, he's helped the team, too, most recently scoring today's winning run.

So what better way to honor our new favorite Cub than by giving him a nickname? We've batted a few around the office (atrocious pun intended), but nothing's stuck for the hard-working Scales. We were thinking "The Engine" a la "The Little Engine that Could" but that's too childish. The Splendid Scrapper? Meh. CubHub alluded to Crash Davis, Kevin Costner's Bull Durham character, but that doesn't quite work either. Cubscast had a few but they just didn't satisfy.

So we turn to you, readers. Help us find a nickname that sticks for this season's feel-good story. We'll take the best suggestions and then put it to a vote. And no Berman-esque nicknames like Bobby "Tips The" Scales or Bobby Scales "Of Justice." The nickname needs to be able to stand alone.
