2009_05_spudnik.jpg Support Chicago’s local printmaking scene on Saturday, June 6 with Spudnik Press’ Silent Auction / Loud Party fundraiser at Happy Dog Gallery. For 2 years, Angee Lennard's print shop has hosted weekly open studios, residencies, community outreach programs, and workshops for Chicago’s up and coming artists. It's small, independent shops like Spudnik that keep the city’s art scene thriving, diverse, and accessible, so help them keep the dream alive!

The silent auction will include art from Sonnenzimmer, Paul Nudd, Dan Grzeca, SuperKonductor, Jeremy Tinder, Elke Claus, The Post Family, Pete Rangel, and many more. And all purchased prints can be taken away that evening.

There will also be a booth of goodies like books, cards, and handmade items by artists who work at the shop, as well as information about how you can start screen printing at Spudnik Press. And for those who donate $20 or more, t-shirts designed and screenprinted by Sanya Glisic will be available. The shhhh part of the event ends at 10 p.m. with live music and free air hockey games until 1 a.m.

Happy Dog Gallery, 1542 N Milwaukee, 2nd Floor; Saturday, June 6, 6 p.m. - 1 a.m.; donations will be accepted at the door.
