Chicagoist Does: Randolph Street Market Festival

We went to the opening of the Randolph Street Market this weekend to check out the hodgepodge of vendors, ranging from the mundane to the bizarre. You can find antiques, jewelry, vinyl, local indie designer clothing, and a million things you never knew existed. We saw antique suitcases and birdcages, lava lamps, action figures and pottery recovered from a shipwreck. And a lot of sunburns; don't forget the sunscreen, folks!
The Randolph Street Market takes place the last weekend of each month until September. The next market will take place June 27 and 28. The Festival is at the Plumbers Hall complex, 1340 W. Washington or enter at 1350 block of W. Randolph between Ada and Ogden, part indoors and part outdoors. Admission is $10 at the gate, $8 in advance, and good for both days. Student admission is half price with ID. Children under 12 free. You can purchase a season pass for two, including free valet parking, for $75.
