Kanye Comes Out ... With A Book

By Melissa Feldsher in Arts & Entertainment on May 28, 2009 5:40PM

2009_05_west.jpg Kanye West--humble producer, musician, designer, and fish stick lover--is now an author. Codifying West’s witticisms, life lessons, and aphorisms with the help of co-author J. Sakiya Sanifer (of the comma-defying Think Think Think and Think Again) behold West’s debut book Thank You And You’re Welcome.

West’s 52-page work consists of “Kanye-isms,” that won’t steal Dorothy Parker’s seat at the Algonquin Round Table any time soon. Here’s a sample anecdote from the book:

"When walking down the street, you can walk in one line perfectly without ever falling over. Now take that same city block, make it a foot wider and then put it a hundred stories high. You're going to be so focused on the fact that you don't have a banister, that you're more likely to fall because of it. When you're so focused on what you don't have...you won't have!"

While we may not know what West is talking about exactly, we’re pretty sure that passage just gave us vertigo.
