Two teenagers are held in the horrific murder of 15-year-old Alex Arellano earlier this month on the Southwest Side.

Jovanny Martinez,15, and Edgar Silva,18, have been linked to the beating, shooting death and burning of Arellano in a Back of the Yards gangway May 1. Martinez has been charged as an adult; as of Thursday, Silva awaits a bond hearing, the Sun-Times reports.

The Sun-Times reports Silva allegedly drove the car used to strike Arellano during the vicious attack. Martinez was charged quickly after the murder - police matched Arellano's blood to blood on Martinez and a gun found on Martinez matched the bullet and shell casings found near the victim's body.

Police are still looking for more suspects.

The high death count of Chicago Public School students, and the extreme violence behind Arellano's death, drew national attention prompting CNN coverage and comment from Anderson Cooper.
