The Ladies & Gentlemen play The Taste Of Randolph Sunday, June 21
Street festival music offerings have been looking unusually bleak this season, with even tried and true block parties letting us down. Sorry Wicker Park Fest and Do-Division ... you each have a few bright spots but as a whole you leave us cold.

Luckily The Taste Of Randolph, who in past years has surprised us with their ability to make adventurous picks that still end up crowd pleasing, has secured the best line-up we've seen so far. With local groups like The Ladies & Gentlemen, Old Fake, and Ultra Sonik Educators providing the younger, untested blood we actually don't mind seeing a few dusty dinosaurs like Urge Overkill in their midst, especially since we're gonna get such a kick out of seeing Nash Kato leer at all those soccer moms that will be vying for the perfect vantage point to take in Saturday's headliner, the Cheap Trick cover band power-pop "supergroup" Tinted Windows.

And, though they seem to play Chicago every 18 days or so, we never tire of The Hold Steady and can count on them to leave the throngs exhausted (and likely puking up corndogs and cheap beer after bouncing to the infectious energy) with their Sunday evening closing set

Check out the full line-up after the jump and tell us what you think.
