We're still four months away from the International Olympic Committee's final vote to select the host city of the 2016 Summer Olympics, but that doesn't mean Chicago 2016 is resting on its laurels. The team is prepping for a June 17 technical presentation in Lausanne, Switzerland. According to Crain's:
The presentations will attempt to do in 45 minutes what took four days when an IOC evaluation commission visited each city in April. But it’s a valuable opportunity to make the pitch to many of the 100-plus IOC members who will vote Oct. 2 on the host city.“It’s an opportunity for us to get in front of a lot of people who vote,” said Lori Healey, president of Chicago 2016 and one of six members who will be heading to the Lausanne meeting. Also attending is Bob Ctvrtlik, vice-chairman of international relations for Chicago 2016.
We hope they get the presentation down because with Mayor Daley involved, his rambling could easily eat up a big chunk of that 45 minutes.
