Noe Cuellar strives to present sound as an independent medium. Amira Hanafi has published visual poetry and organized multi-vocal readings of her work. Ian Hatcher deals in realtime networked writing. Joseph Kramer is a multi-instrumentalist from the Ozark plateau, and Meredith Zielke is an award-winning independent filmmaker.

With their artistic powers combined, they make up Red Rover Series Experiment #30, “Eye Heard Throughout.” Founded by the School of the Art Institute, each Red Rover Series “is designed as a reading experiment with participation by local, national, and international writers, artists, and performers.” In short, this ain’t your grandma’s bedtime story.

So quit your shameless gossiping about the reality TV career of Heidi Montag and get your ass over to see this voraciously talented collaboration of poets, sounds artists, and performers.

Red Rover Series Experiment #30, Saturday June 6, 7 p.m., The Orientation Center, 2129 N. Rockwell, $4 suggested donation.
