Sharon Bautista and Dimitra Tasiouras bonded over food, exploring the city and bicycles at LTHForum. Their new company Fork and the Road combines the three. "Dimitra had the idea of riding around on our bikes to compare gelato across the city. Since I'm a bit of a cycling geek, we named the tours we did last summer after major European stage road bike races: the Giro del Gelato (after the Giro d'Italia), the Tour de France and the Vuelta a Tacos (after the Vuelta a EspaƱa)," said Bautista.
Bautista and Tasiouras have five culinary bike tours planned for summer and fall, each taking on a specific food theme. Bautista said that the tours will be limited to 15 people for safety reasons and to allow for participants to better converse with each other and the chefs from tha participating restaurants. The rides range from 15-25 miles each and will start and end at a location nearby for participants who need to rent bicycles or return rentals.
