If you were a reader of Punk Planet, you might be familiar with the Chicago-based subculture zine’s co-editor Anne Elizabeth Moore. No? Maybe you’ve seen her get “forcibly ejected from retail establishments.” She also wrote a book, Unmarketable: Brandalism, Copyfighting, Mocketing, and the Erosion of Integrity, which you can hear her discuss with the folks of Bad at Sports right here.

On Friday, June 19 the consumerism critic / artist / media activist’s exhibit Dismantling the Corporate State and Other Amusements, a retrospective of her work, will open at Columbia College’s Gallery at The Center for Book & Paper Arts. The festivities will ensue with a presentation about Moore's Pie-0ff project, a pie-baking competition that addressed consumption, decisions made in groups, and competition. And, yes, pie will be provided.

Eight other personal projects and collaborations of Moore’s will showcase her work of the past few years. Some of these include: "the unlympics" (a series of competitive events that engaged Chicagoans in active dialogue about the city’s 2016 bid), "Operation: Pocket Full of Wishes" which got her banned from American Girl Place, and the exhibit’s closing event on Saturday, August 22—an artist talk followed by "The Anne Elizabeth Moore Award for Excellence in Awesomeness" ceremony.

The Gallery at The Center for Book & Paper Arts, Columbia College Chicago, 1104 S. Wabash, 2nd floor, Opens Friday, June 19 and runs through Saturday, August 22. Opening Reception on June 19 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Gallery hours: Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Free.
