The Friday Buffet: Fathers Want Food

By Jacy Wojcik in Food on Jun 19, 2009 6:00PM

This Sunday is Father's Day, remember? Nice work. Lucky for you, you've still got some options. Options that don't involve this.

  • Restaurant Takashi - Join James Beard award winner Chef Takashi Yagihashi and his French-Asian-American inspired cuisine on Sunday to kick off the first lunch seating ever. Both prix fixe and non prix-fixe menus available and the patio will be open and kickin. Open Sunday 11am to 2:30 and then again for dinner at 5:00pm. 1952 N. Damen (773) 772-6170

  • The Smoke Daddy - Ok. So the party is actually the day before Father's Day but does that really matter? On Saturday from 12pm-3pm, The Smoke Daddy is having a pre-Father’s day pig roast. Twenty five dollars gets you all you can eat pork, delicious sides, beer and a blues band concert. Pick up a bottle of their bbq sauce while you're there for a surprise gift (Dad's like that kind of thing.) 1804 W Division St. (773) 772-6656

  • The Chopping Block This Sunday The Chopping Block is hosting a Father's Day BBQ Bonanza. Which translates to: a hands-on grilling class on their new patio. Grill skirt steak and bbq baby-back ribs and dine on baked beans and bacon potato salad. Don't fret- beer is included. It's from 2pm-4:30pm at the Lincoln Square location and the cost is $85. There's only a few seats left so get them now. Right now. 4747 N Lincoln Ave (773) 293-8490
