Koval Distillery in Andersonville has been making some noise of late, as the city's only distillery. They've also been making some amazing spirits and liqueurs, from what we tasted a couple weeks back at Uncommon Ground Devon's Friday Farmers Market.

From 7:30-9:30 p.m. today at In Fine Spirits (5240 N. Clark, 773- 334-9463) Koval owner/distillers Robert Birnecker and Sonat Birnecker Hart will lead a tasting of 10 different Koval spirits, including the Bierbrand made in conjunction with next-door neighbor Metropolitan Brewing. In Fine Spirits chef Marianne Sundquist will prepare a menu using ingredients she purchased at the Andersonville Farmers Market, so you won't feel light-headed. It's all part of the kick-off of In Fine Spirits' weekly "Eat Local/Drink Local" series. Cost is $15 and you can make your reservation by calling the shop or online here.
