Do This: Lost Abbey Beer Tasting at the Bluebird

By Chuck Sudo in Food on Jul 6, 2009 7:40PM

Over the years we've developed a theory that brewmasters are underrated as philosophers, seeing as brewing and drinking beer are often lock-step with social intercourse. We're big fans here of Lost Abbey beers (see our "BotW" review of their "Gift of the Magi" ale). After reading brewmaster Tomme Arthur's blog posts and his sound bites of wisdom, you'll become a fan, as well.

Tomorrow night at the Bluebird (1749 N. Damen, 773-486-2473) beer lovers and Lost Abbey fans will have a chance to meet Arthur in the flesh. He'll be on hand for a special tasting of Lost Abbey ales, including the De Proef Signature Ale Arthur brewed in collaboration with De Proef's Dirk Naudts.

Bluebird has quickly developed a reputation as one of the city's up-and-coming beer bars, events like this will only solidify that. The Arthur/Lost Abbey tasting runs from 7:30-9:30 tomorrow night and costs $25 per person. Call the Bluebird or e-mail them to RSVP.
