Do This: Dinner and A Tour of the Uncommon Ground Rooftop Garden

Garden1.jpg Remember that rooftop garden we told you about a few weeks ago? It’s not open to regular patrons of Uncommon Ground, but if you go to an upcoming Slow Food Chicago Dinner, you can get a group tour of the nation's first certified organic rooftop garden. We’ve been up there, and it’s not to be missed.

Not only will visitors to the August 18th event get a tour, they’ll get a cocktail reception on the rooftop with such tasty delights as Lamb Kabob Lollipops with Ground Cherry Jam. After the reception, a 3-course meal will be served at Uncommon Ground. Dishes will contain products from a number of different local farms and producers, and dinner comes with a 3 course wine pairing. This whole event, excluding tax and gratuity, costs $50 per person. We aren’t often tempted by expensive “event” dinners, but this one is a no-brainer for anyone interested in local products or organic gardening.
