Food Mobile Applications - Tell Us What You're Using!
By L. Stolpman in Food on Aug 27, 2009 5:00PM
If you're like us, sometimes you want to grab a bite to eat and may not know exactly what's nearby, especially in an unknown part of the city. Mobile phone applications are a great way to help you not only find out what's nearby but also direct you right to its front door.
We're going to compile some mobile applications used on four major operating systems: Apple, Blackberry, Android, and Palm Pre. Yours truly uses a Blackberry therefore has more familiarity with those applications so please chime in with a comment to tell us what mobile application you're using (and operating system) to stay on top of your food options.
Most of these applications are available for multiple operating systems:
- Where (access to Yelp and finds the nearest Starbucks with one-click)
- Poynt (Ed. Note: Currently Poynt is only available for Blackberry, but they are developing a version for iPhone for release later this year, CS)
- Open Table
- Urban Spoon
- Food Network - Mobile browser friendly
- Epicurious
Here are some great places to find your mobile apps for Blackberry, Apple, Android and Palm Pre.
