So as we prepare to bid adieu to August next week, we realize we lost August long ago. Like a bad episode of "Intervention." There's still a chance of rain as the morning continues but the chance lessens by lunch. Otherwise, it'll be cloudy and cool and damp, with highs in the upper 60s. We imagine this year's weather will inspire a new WGN special entitled, "The Year Without A Summer," in which some children track down Tom Skilling on Mt. Weather and find out he's given up on summer after listening to everyone bitch at him about the snow during winter. It's up to those children to convince Tom that YES! we DO want a summer here and if only he'd let us have one, we'd learn our lesson, that there are four seasons and he'd learn to love again. There you go, WGN, yall can send us the check in the mail for this brilliant idea caused by lack of sunlight.
