Mr. Tastees has quickly become Wicker Park's most visible art peddler. Dressed like a retro soda shop employee and pushing a pinstriped ice cream cart complete with shiny, chrome rims from which he sells his signature pop-infused, laser-cut acrylic jewelry, Mr. Tastees has quickly risen to the status of neighborhood fixture and cult hit. Widely embraced by Chicago's DJ and club-rap artists, Mr. Tastees is taking advantage of his connections and throwing a mobile pop-up party out of his brand spanking new, candy coated ice cream truck.

Mr. Tastees has teamed up with sneaker aficionados St. Alfred for the Pop Up Jam Outta The Tastees Van street party this Saturday at an undisclosed location in celebration of the launch of his bow tie line. While the event only runs two hours, it's jam packed with talent, featuring Kid Static, Hood Internet, He Say She Say, Vyle and BBU. The music lineup and the quirky nature of the event is enough of a draw to sell us, but Mister Tastees kicks it up a notch with a performance by acrobatic, half-time showstoppers, the Jesse White Tumblers.

Curious? The event runs from 7-9 p.m. and the location can be revealed with your RSVP to popupjam@kidstatic.com.
