Are you interested in living next door to Obama’s Hyde Park house? You may be in luck, if you have money that is, because his neighbors officially put their 17-room house on the market yesterday. No price tag has been given just yet, but homes in the area typically go for between $1 million and $2.5 million.

The listing agent for the 6,000-square-foot house is also hoping the “Obama factor” contributes to the price tag, “We're looking for the people that want to live next to the president and they're willing to pay a premium for it,” said listing agent Matt Garrison, in an interview with FoxNews.com. The current owners bought the house, which has eight bedrooms and 3 ½ bathrooms, for $35,000 in 1973.

Not surprisingly, living next door to the President isn’t devoid of difficulties. Although Obama and his family haven’t spent much time at their Chicago home since moving to The White House, the street is still barricaded and you can’t be on their block without being approved by the Secret Service first. Prospective buyers of the house also have to be pre-qualified to even look at it, and of course be screened by the Secret Service.
