Teacher Charged with Giving Students Alcohol, Drugs

Today's bad judgment award goes to a north suburban high school teacher accused of giving her students more than homework -- she allegedly also provided them with booze, pot, and -- curiously -- Zoloft.
Kym Krocza, a math teacher at Grant High School in Fox Lake, was being investigated by the Lake County Sheriff after a parent contacted them when they discovered their kid had been given alcohol and marijuana, and the student reportedly received it from Krocza. After investigating further, the sheriff's department says they uncovered several more incidents of students receiving alcohol, marijuana, and anti-depressants from Krocza, stemming back to January of this year.
Krocza, who has taught at the school for 9 years, has been suspended until the investigation is complete. The Daily Herald contacted one former student who said, "I am disappointed by the allegation, but not surprised by them. It wasn't unusual for her to invite students over. She invited me one time, but I didn't go."
We can't help but wonder about the parents who would condone their teens spending time at a teacher's house. Are we the only ones who find it unusual and/or inappropriate?
