Rejoice! The Blackhawks Are Back!

Sure, the regular season doesn't officially open until October 2nd when the team takes on Florida in a pair of games in Helsinki. But hockey is hockey, dammit, and our Blackhawks, fresh off a fantastic run to the Western Conference Finals, are back in action tomorrow night with a preseason match-up against the Washington Capitals. It's one of only two preseason home games before the team travels overseas for a pair of warm-up games against European teams and then those season openers. Plenty of tickets are still available for the game, which faces off at the UC at 7:30 p.m. Finally, we can put the off-season drama behind us and just focus on action on the ice.

You can also head over to Pioneer Court on Michigan Ave. today (right outside the Tribune Tower) to take part in the Blackhawks Bash and meet several Blackhawks players. The event kicks off in just a little bit at high noon and runs until 4 p.m.
