Do This: Oysters and Beer at Cole's Bar

By Chuck Sudo in Food on Sep 21, 2009 4:20PM

2009_09_oystersbeer.jpg Oysters and beer: a combination so simple but perfect. Jimmy Buffet wrote a song where he wished for oysters and beer for dinner every day of the year (only one? Color us shocked!), and as we reach autumn the oysters harvested probably taste better than they will at any other time of year.

Cole's Bar in Logan Square (2338 N. Milwaukee, 773-276-5802) will be pairing oysters and beer this evening from 8-10 p.m. This is ostensibly a promotion for North Coast's Old No. 38 Stout, which will be available in $4 pints this evening. The oysters are being provided by Plitt Seafood Company. This will also be a great opportunity for those of you who were angry that Buffet's Landshark Lager sponsored the Oysterfest in Roscoe Village this weekend to pair those bivalves with a real beer.
