my kind.jpg Another Friday, another round of activities taking place in our city — and they do not even involve Olympics, or Olympians, or Olympia Dukakis. Just look at some of the things you can do!:

Rotofugi hosts an opening reception for My Kind of Town, a group exhibit that opens tonight. In addition to art by Peabe, Phineas X. Jones, Joey Potts and many other local greats, you get music by Genghiswon. Through Oct. 11.
Friday, Sept. 25. 7-10 p.m. 1953 W. Chicago Ave.

Tonight marks the opening of the 39th Annual Pilsen East Artists’ Open House — a.k.a. the Pilsen Artwalk. More than 50 artists will participate and be on hand to discuss their work and share their creative process. Six blocks of art! Just go to the 1800 block of S. Halsted in Pilsen and look for art.
Friday, Sept. 25 from 6-10 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 26-27 from 12-7 p.m.

Too busy for art tonight? Then check out tomorrow's opening at the Believe Inn in Bucktown. The "Out of Towners" season wraps up with an installation by Brooklyn artist Trevor Reese, who has brought a site-specific installation via U-Haul truck.
Saturday, Sept. 26. 6-10 p.m. 2043 N. Winchester.

This is the weekend for the Lakeview East Festival of the Arts, which features both local and national artists.
Saturday, Sept. 26 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. N. Broadway Ave., just north of Belmont Ave.

If Saturday is your day to get drunk on Schlitz and play darts with your Uncle Stan, then get arty on Sunday instead with the Center on Halsted, which hosts its annual Silent & Live Auction Brunch. Artwork, an autographed tennis racquet from Billie Jean King, tickets to exotic locations, and many other items will be up for bid. Proceeds go toward the Center's programming and operations.
Sunday, Sept. 27. 11 a.m.-3 p.m. $50. 3656 N. Halsted.

Later in the day, the Experimental Sound Studio welcomes the coming of the grape harvest with Vinosonic: pieces by 11 composers chosen by curator Matt Griffin, paired with wines selected by Michael Malinsky of Fine Spirits.
Sunday, Sept. 27. 5-8 p.m. Suggested donation of $15. 5925 N. Ravenswood.
