It's Back: The Obama Chia Pet Returns

It was too controversial for Walgreens to carry so now CVS is stepping up to fill the Obama Chia Pet void. The Sun-Times spoke to Joseph Enterprises Inc. president Joseph Pedott about the...gift? And he claims to have the support of the Commander-in-Chief himself.

"I presented it to him [at a reception after his commencement address at Notre Dame], and he said, 'Gee, I've got green hair,'" said Pedott, who also provided heads for first daughters Malia and Sasha Obama. "Everybody laughed. I was on Cloud Nine."

Half a million Obama Chia pets have been in storage since Walgreens pulled the item off of store shelves earlier this year over concerns it could be "misinterpreted." The Presidential line of Chia pets has been expanded to include George Washington and Abraham Lincoln; the Statue of Liberty is also available.
