The submissions have been deliberated and the judges have spoken. Psalm One has been named the grand prize winner of the Chicago Public Library's CHIPUBLIB Sound Off music contest.

Back in August, Chicago musicians were invited to submit compositions inspired by their city. Psalm One (Cristalle Bowen) wowed the judges with her upbeat, hip-hop ode to the city. Backed by Chicago's Ethan Stoller and the Kaotic Drumline, Psalm One's submission, Bucket Song, traverses the neighborhoods of Chicago and touts the skills of the musicians who call the city streets their stage.

Music fans can hear Psalm One perform her prize-winning submission, alongside People's Choice Award Winner, Shawn Pennington, at the CHIPUBLIB Sound Off concert held at Pritzker Park on Thursday, October 22. Doors open at 5 p.m. and admission is free of charge.
