Friday Afternoon Diversion: Dance, Chicago, Dance
By Marcus Gilmer in Miscellaneous on Oct 16, 2009 8:00PM
Need something to cheer you up on this gloomy Friday? How about some fellow Chicagoans dancing to some James Brown? It's thanks to the group Dance NOW Chicago who has this idea:
Dance NOW Chicago is an experiment operating under the theory that One Song+One City+One Location=Everyone Dances. Participation is as easy as 1, 2, 31. Download the “One Song”
2. Map the “One Location”
3. Show up to the “One Location” at the specified time with the “One Song” in tow (via MP3 player, discman, walkman, whatever man! something with headphones) and DANCE!
Below is video of the first experiment, using James Brown's "Sex Machine." If you feel like joining in on the fun, their next experiment is a doozy: Michael Jackson's "Thriller." The fun happens at the Hamlin Park basketball courts on Thursday, October 29, at 7:30 p.m. [via the fine folks at Fuck Yeah Chicago!!]
