  • Today:Don't Forget that tickets are still available to Nourish: Meals on Wheels annual celebrity chef ball, 6-10 p.m. at Macy's on State Street.
  • Saturday: Lycée Français de Chicago's Fall French Market takes place from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Sunday hours are noon-4 p.m.). Experience the tastes, sounds, art and antiques of a traditional French marketplace. $10 per child or $15 per family with a recommended maximum of two hours. (Lycée Français de Chicago, 613 W. Bittersweet Place)
  • Sunday:The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is hosting a benefit wine tasting at Geja's Café (340 W. Armitage) from 1-5 p.m. The wine tasting will be moderated by Patrick W. Fegan of Chicago Wine School. $50
  • Monday: The Bad Apple (4300 N. Lincoln Avenue, 773-360-8406) is hosting its first beer dinner from 7-10 p.m. (co-owner Craig Fass is a member of the Glunz culinary Council). the five-course dinner includes rarebit Pranqster Ale-braised pork, Charkoota Rye-Braised Rabbit - root vegetable mélange and Foie-Studded Burger Wellington. $50.
  • Tuesday: Frasca Pizzeria and Wine Bar (3358 N. Paulina, 773-248-5222) is having a pizza making class from 7-9 p.m. Owner Josh Rutherford will show guests how to make a quality wood-fired brick oven pizza. Guests get to choose between Margherita or Pepperoni. $25, includes the pizza and two glasses of wine.
  • Wednesday: Osteria Via Stato's "Swig and Pig" dinner takes place from 6:30-9:30 p.m. The $60, five-course, pork-focused dinner will feature beers from Two Brothers Brewery. (620 N. State St.,312-642-8450)
  • Thursday: Actor, bon vivant and "food tipster" Monte Lamonte — he and I hail from the same Northwest Side neighborhood of Hermosa Park — follows up an appearance on "Check, Please" with the premiere of his food adventure series "Off the Eatin' Path with Monte" at the Lincoln Restaurant (4001 N. Lincoln) starting at 9 p.m. Lamonte will have a sample of food from the featured restaurant available. 10.
