Bulls Edge Cavs
Joakim Noah lent a hand (literally) to help the Bulls stop LeBron James and the Cavs in the final seconds, 86-85. Noah's defensive play of James helped the Bulls preserve the win in a game that wasn't as pretty as some might have expected but was a win nonetheless. Luol Deng once again led all Bulls with 15 points while Derrick Rose had a solid outing with 14 points and 11 assists; Noah also pulled down 11 rebounds in the effort. And though the offense still struggled, the defense held one of the NBA's superstars in check (enough) to get that hard-fought victory. Said Noah after the game, "It's a big win for us. When our offense starts clicking, we're gonna be even tougher." With the win, their second in a row, the Bulls move to 3-2 on the year. Next up are the Charlotte Bobcats tomorrow night at the United Center (7 p.m., WGN).
Coyotes Trip Up Blackhawks
The 'Hawks fell behind early and never caught up to the Coyotes who sent the 'Hawks home with a 3-1 loss. The Coyotes had netted all three goals by mid-way through the second period before the Blackhawks finally got on the board themselves courtesy of Kris Versteeg who scored a short-handed goal. Huet made 20 saves in net besides allowing the three goals. It was the second loss in three games for the 'Hawks, who are 2-3 on the road this year, not a good sign with the impending Circus Trip. The loss also dropped the 'Hawks into second place in the division behind Columbus. They'll try to turn their road (mis)fortunes around tonight in Colorado (8 p.m., CSN).
