Permanent Records Turns Three

2009_11_PRexLogo.jpg Say what you will about the decline of the neighborhood record store, Ukrainian Village's Permanent Records has led by example and prospered in the face of economic and industry adversity. Unknown to many, the little outpost that could also houses its own label, offering up some truly eclectic selections. We're lucky enough to be able to hop on over to P-Rex whenever we want, but those outside Chicago will be pleased to learn that the shop has launched an online store where you can purchase new and used selections in a variety of different formats.

The online store launch arrives in tandem with P-Rex's Third Anniversary and we'll be celebrating with them this Saturday at the Hideout. There'll be plenty of giveaways and surprises throughout the night and it's a great chance to check out four Chicago-based acts you might not yet be familiar with; Cave, Cacaw, Black Math and Mako Sica. If you want to guarantee your attendance, then we suggest picking up advance tickets here.

Permanent Records Third Anniversary with Cave, Cacaw, Black Math and Mako Sica, Saturday, November 21, at the Hideout, 1354 W Wabansia, 9 p.m., $5, 21+.
