Scott Investigation Continues

Despite yesterday's ruling from the Cook County Medical Examiner's office that CPS Board of Education president Michael Scott's death was a suicide, Chicago Police are still going forward with their investigation, including reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing residents who lived near where Scott's body was found. According to Fox 32:
The cameras are pointed downward and may not have captured anything significant in the area where Scott died. A number of condo and commercial buildings are nearby and there may be a chance one of those had a security camera pointing in the right direction. In addition police will likely try to speak with people who live in the upper floors of the apartment buildings with the thought someone may have heard a gunshot or possibly tires squealing away.
As always with such an unexpected death, rumors are swirling, including a report to Fox 32 from sources that Scott was due to meet with the U.S. Attorney's office yesterday. CPD superintendent Jody Weis reiterated the point, saying, "We know what the ME ruled but there’s still a lot of questions that exist out there. And we want to make sure we’ve done a thorough investigation before we make a definitive call ourselves. It’s early on - this investigation." The Tribune has additional details of the investigation in their story.
While family and friends try to make sense of Scott's untimely death, they're remembering him fondly, including Mayor Daley who said, "He always helped people. He always had a smile, he was always upbeat."
