Two people stole over $70,000 in cash from an ATM in the bank lobby of a Chase Bank in Buffalo Grove earlier this month, police said. The two thieves obtained customers' account information from a camera and another recording device they installed in the lobby. The Secret Service was informed of the robbery, which took place at the Chase Bank on the 170 block of North McHenry Road in Buffalo Grove.

Between Nov. 14 at 3:40 a.m. and Nov. 16 at 5:15 a.m., two people placed a camera and a second recording device on the ATM inside the bank's lobby, police said. The two individuals returned to the bank and used the recorded account information to withdraw over $70,000 from various accounts. Apparently, they didn't stop to think about the bank's own devices that were recording them, however, as the two thieves were caught stealing money and installing their devices on the bank's surveillance cameras, police said.
