Brawl at Suburban Chuck E. Cheese's

What do you get when you combine beer, screaming kids, brain stabbing lights and noise, and disgruntled family members? A big ol' fight, that's what.
Investigators are still looking into what exactly happened at a Chuck E. Cheese's in Arlington Heights on Sunday night when, according to the police report, a heated argument took place. A family was celebrating the birthday of one of their kids at the pizza and games emporium when other family members showed up and an argument escalated into a fight. Arlington Heights Police Sgt. Tom Boggs said, "There was a pushing match and things were thrown." Two people were treated for injuries. While Boggs doesn't know exactly how many people were involved in the brawl, he said there were at least 5 or 6, and that -- hold onto your hats -- he thinks "some of the participants had been drinking." Charges in the incident have not yet been filed.
This isn't the first time Chuck E. Cheese's has made it into the local news this year -- in February an Oak Lawn franchise was sued after a girl was hurt in a kid avalanche, and in April a Batavia outlet was cited for serving alcohol to minors. A little less than a year ago, an investigative report by the Wall Street Journal detailed how the restaurant chain is a breeding ground for violent behavior (just last week a man allegedly pulled a knife at a CEC in Ohio). Keep it up, Mr. C. E. Cheese, you're starting to make Rush and Division look sedate.
