Release Party Announced for Soup and Bread Cookbook

By Chuck Sudo in Food on Dec 1, 2009 8:20PM

cookbook_proof_cover1117.jpg Soup and Bread mastermind Martha Bayne sent out an e-mail blast today announcing the completion of the Soup and Bread Cookbook in time for the holidays. Bayne and book designer Sheila Sachs will be throwing a book release party next Wednesday at the Hideout from 5-8 p.m.

The cost of the cookbook is $20. Limited edition silkscreened prints of artist Paul Dolan's illustrations from the book will also be available for sale. While there will be no soup at the launch party, Bayne did write that the crockpots will be filled with hot spiked cider for the occasion. Some proceeds from the event and sales of the cookbook will go to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

If you cannot make it to the book launch, copies will be available at Hideout's Holiday sale on December 15 and 22. You'll also be able to find the Soup and Bread cookbook at Renegade Handmade, Quimby's, Swim Café and Green Grocer Chicago, with plans for the book to be sold at other retail locations.
