Cupcake Crawl Post

By Chuck Sudo in Food on Dec 16, 2009 3:20PM

2009_12_crawl.jpg Over the summer Tammy Green of Chicago Bites wrote up a week-long series of Chicago neighborhood dining tours for friends visiting Chicago that included a cupcake stop on every route. The response from Green's friends and Chicago Bites' readers was so overwhelming that Green began to consider the options of writing another guide. However, thinking such an endeavor would be a daunting undertaking, Green instead decided to focus on one subject: cupcakes.

Green has published an e-book "cupcake crawl" guide listing 30 of her favorite bakeries specializing in cupcakes. The purpose of the book is to introduce novice gourmands to the city's bakeries and draw seasoned foodies out of their comfort zones in an effort to try new places. Then, after readers have worked their way through the book, they can share their experiences on the website Green set up for the book. Green's Cupcake Crawl Guide is a great last-minute gift or a go-to resource for future walking tours of the city.
