Cast Your Votes For The 29th Annual CMAs

Did you know Chicago has it's very own formal, annual music awards? This year marks the 29th for the CMAs (Chicago Music Awards), established in 1982 to recognize the breadth of talent who live and work in the Windy City. The CMA's aren't limited to the expected genres, awarding artists in pop, R&B, rock, blues, jazz, country, opera, latin, reggae, classical, hip-hop/rap, gospel, dance, world beat and even...polka!

The awards will take place on January 24, but in the meantime you're invited to cast your votes. We visited their site initially to participate, but ended up spending the afternoon googling Chicago musicians we'd never heard of, in genres we'd never explored.
