There’s no cover for the party, and drink specials are $2 domestics and a wide variety of $5 holiday martinis. The Tribune recommends you try “The Grinch,” one of the tavern’s Christmas drinks combining Absolut Citroen, Midori, fresh limejuice and a cherry to garnish. And if you’re hungry, the kitchen is open until midnight and their bar food is more like Italian cuisine - we suggest the tomato basil pizza. There will also be a Holiday Martini Naming Contest for a chance to win a $50 Avenue Tavern gift certificate.
The whole thing might sound a little cheesy, but should be a fun, cheap way to get in the holiday spirit.
