Police closed a portion of 330 N. Stetson Ave. on Saturday afternoon because of falling concrete. At about 3 p.m., police responded to reports of concrete falling from the upper level onto the mid-level of the multi-level street. Stetson Avenue was promptly closed between East South Water Street and East Wacker Drive, police said.

In the past, police have responded to the same area for falling concrete, as cold temperatures often cause the material to crack and break off. Last year, falling concrete in the area damaged numerous vehicles, police said. No reports of property damage or injuries occurred in Saturday's incident. The street will be examined by the city's Department of Transportation, and they will determine the cause and fix the problem, police said. The street will remain closed until the Department of Transportation is finished. [Chicago Sun-Times]
