Kane Named To Team USA

The Blackhawks' Patrick Kane became the sixth Blackhawk named to a 2010 Olympic team yesterday when he was announced as a member of Team USA's roster. Speculation included Dustin Byfuglien as a possible team member as well, but Buff was left off the '10 roster. Said Kane, who has shaken off that off-season controversy, "All of my friends and family back home are really excited. It's a dream come true. It's the Olympics we're talking about. It's probably the highest stage of hockey you can play and highest competition level too." Besides Kane, other 'Hawks on Olympic teams include a trio - Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook and Jonathan Toews - for Team Canada and a pair - Marian Hossa and Tomas Kopecky - for Team Slovakia.

Team USA opens up their Olympic schedule on February 16 against Switzerland and then play Team Norway on February 18, all leading up to a huge face-off against Team Canada on February 21 to close out pool play.
