Rogers Park Fire Kills 1, Hurts 5

A fire in a Rogers Park apartment building, located at 6720 N. Sheridan Rd., this afternoon has left one person dead and five injured; two of the injured were firefighters. One of the injured was hurt jumping out of an apartment that was engulfed in flames. Fire officials are investigating the fire which they call "suspicious." The fire broke out shortly after noon today in a hallway on the building's fifth floor and spread to an apartment and then continued spreading, even beginning to spread to the building's fifth floor.
